I think it takes longer now to figure out what makes you excited and wanting to live. There's so much distracting us all the time. My kids are in their 30s. They both have their own businesses and live in NYC. I think they have a much higher belief in themselves than I did. Especially at that age. But maybe life is more about self discovery than living the lie that you should have your life together by the time you're a certain age. I'm in my sixties and am still seeking...so don't despair. What if life is for growing and becoming...
That's a really wonderful point, Monica. Racing towards this benchmark of 'having your life together' seems like a strawman goal. Even if you think you get it, the person that you are might change, and have brand new desires and metrics of success. All of the razzle dazzle of our social media feeds creates so much FOMO, it can be hard to feel like you're not losing the race. It does make me happy to hear that you're still a student of life though! Still growing with intention, instead of trying to convince yourself that you're done. Two kids with their own businesses in NYC is quite the accomplishment, they must have had a very supportive and entrepreneurial mother!

Yes I never thought I had to get somewhere.. I have had little expectations. Just gratitude. We're all waking up.
